Program FAQs

Question: How is a veteran determined to be eligible for low cost or no cost incontinence home delivery benefits?
Answer: Eligibility is determined by the VA. You need to be enrolled in the VA healthcare system and have a VA healthcare provider prescribe the supplies. Going to your local VA and working with your healthcare provider is a quick and easy way to begin this process. It may be easier to call (for some veterans). They can either call their local VA healthcare provider or call the VA at 877-222-8387.

Question: Are there any other criteria to receive these benefits?
Answer: Your VA provider needs to determine that you have a medical need for these products.

Question: Is a prescription necessary?
Answer: Yes, your VA healthcare provider must provide you with a prescription for these incontinence products. If you prefer Kimberly Clark branded items be sure to vocalize that to your provider so it is included in the prescription. The VA healthcare providers are familiar with this process and prescribe these Name Brand products to veterans frequently through this program.

Question: What is the name of the VA program the Kimberly Clark products are available through?
Answer: The program is called the Consolidated Mail Order Pharmacy program, usually referred to as CMOP. It is a direct to patient program through the VA.

Question: How do I get these products delivered to my home through the CMOP program?
Answer: You may select and/or request to be enrolled in the CMOP by your VA healthcare provider once they have written a prescription for incontinence products for you.

Question: What brand of products will I be provided?
Answer: Your provider will assist you in understanding which products are available and help make the right choice for you. You can be provided with name brands of incontinence products you know and trust including Depend and Poise if you request them by name.

Question: What is the range of incontinence products this program provides?
Answer: The program has a comprehensive formulary of products including adult diapers, pads, and other incontinence related items.

Question: How do I apply for CMOP benefits?
Answer: There are several ways to apply and check eligibility. The simplest method is to visit your local VA medical center and ask to be enrolled into the system and see a doctor about bladder leakage/control issues and products that can help with it. You can also apply online at va.gov or call 877-222-8387.
